As a shareholder and leader at Simmons Hanly Conroy, Jayne Conroy oversees the practice’s Complex Litigation Department and personally specializes in Class Actions, Mass Torts, Medical Device Litigation, Pharmaceutical Litigation, Products Liability, and Sexual Abuse Litigation. She holds over 30 years of experience in law and has received regular appointments to serve as docket leadership for dozens of MDLs. Most recently, Jayne received an appointment to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the In re: Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury Products Liability Litigation. She also continues serving on the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee in In re McKinsey & Co Inc National Prescription Opiate Consultant Litigation and co-lead counsel on the Ohio-based National Prescription Opiate MDL. During her time as Opioid leadership, she has secured a $26 billion global settlement with McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health Inc AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp., and Johnson & Johnson as part of the National Prescription Opiate MDL. Other major settlements include over $1.7 billion for plaintiffs of four J&J/DePuy Pinnacle bellwether trials; $650.5 million in abatement fees against CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart in Lake and Trumbull counties in Ohio for aiding the opioid epidemic; $60 million for a class of Haitian boys abused by a convicted pedophile; and $16 billion in a global settlement for owners of Volkswagens in the 2016 emissions scandal.
Jayne also served as the President of The National Trial Lawyers’ 2022 Top 100 Trial Lawyers and regularly speaks at CLE events and conferences across the U.S..
