Ari Kresch, a Puerto Rico resident and attorney currently in Michigan. Kresch talks about how he fell in love with Puerto Rico and was one of the initial people practicing law and residing there before most others. He and his colleagues have inspired hundreds of lawyers to move to Puerto Rico, and they have formed a healthy trial lawyers of Puerto Rico organization that interacts with all law schools. Kresch also talks about their upcoming event, Mass Tort Puerto Rico, and how they are looking to improve it from last year. He mentions the keynote speaker, Mark Lanier, and other speakers they have lined up. Kresch also talks about his work in Puerto Rico and how he is trying to duplicate some of the work that trial lawyers do in the United States on behalf of unrepresented people, like class action lawsuits. Kresch shares some examples of the cases he has taken on, including one where a famous pizzeria was paying its delivery employees $1 per delivery instead of a fair mileage charge, and another where five Puerto Rico automobile insurance carriers were denying claims.
